About Hotel Rumi Punku
The Hotel Rumi Punku is located within the Historic Center of Cusco, just a 5-minute walk from the Plaza de Armas, and near the traditional neighborhood of San Blas, on Choquechaca Street. The façade of the Hotel is of Inca Imperial manufacture, one of the three that exists in Cusco, being one of the most beautiful and classic of the Imperial Inca era. The property represents 3 eras:
The Inca era, due to the authentic Inca wall located in the interior part of the Hotel and the original Facade at the entrance, whose main characteristic is its double jamb, that is, its double lintel and walls forming a double corner angle, a characteristic that is found in few opportunities because it is synonymous with nobility, superiority and importance of the home logically linked to the unmistakable seal of Inca architecture: The trapezoidal inclination, which is why the Hotel bears the name of Rumi Punku, (Quechua word) Stone Door in its translation into Spanish.
Our cover is considered a Historical Monument of the city of Cusco by the Ministry of Culture.
The colonial era because it is an old mansion with Inca vestiges.
The contemporary or current era due to the conservationist remodeling that was carried out, to have the facilities, equipment and comfort of a three-star Hotel, recognized by the Tourism Office (Regional Directorate of Tourism) as one of the best three-star hotels in progress; winner of the Q’ente Award for the best quality of Tourism 2010 – 2011 – 2012 – 2014.
